Yet another new opening is on the horizon for Exeter as preparations get underway to open a café in the city centre. The owner says he is finally fulfilling a long-held dream.

Signs have gone up in a window near the top of Fore Street, advertising Creek's Cuppa's 'grand opening' in just a few days' time. The premises was previously used by Princess Nail & Beauty, which has now downsized to only occupy the neighbouring unit.

The new café is also being advertised online by owner John Creek. Back in March, John launched a GoFundMe page to help support him in his dreams of opening his own coffee shop.

He said: "For as long as I can remember, I've held onto a dream—a dream to open a coffee house that transcends the mere act of serving caffeine. I envision a place where every sip is an invitation to connect, to unwind, and to savour life's precious moments. This dream of mine is named Creek's Cuppa.

"This dream has weathered the storms of doubt and faced the challenges of financial constraints, but it has never wavered. I am reaching out to you, dear friends, with a humble request for support to bring Creek's Cuppa to life. Your contribution won't just fund a coffee shop; it will help build a sanctuary for connection, creativity, and community."

In May, John confirmed that Creek's Cuppa was just weeks away from opening and has since been sharing updates on social media in the run-up to the big day. At the end of May, he confirmed that he had got the keys to the premises and had just four weeks to refurbish the site. In the same update, he shared a photo of a flyer which gave more details on what customers can expect.

Visitors will have the option to order their food and drink from an app and have it brought directly to their table. The app is already displaying various menu items, which is set to include a range of coffee, tea, smoothies, sweet treats and sandwiches.

The flyer says: "No queues, no hassle: With our innovative table ordering system, you can place your order right from your seat. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while we take care of the rest. Pre-order with our app: Use the Creek's Cuppa app to pre-order your favourite drinks and food. Your order will be ready for you to pick up or enjoy at your table without any delay."

Creek's Cuppa is due to open on July 1 and can be found at 96 Fore Street in the city centre.
