Exmoor National Park Centre to open its doors for sneak preview
Exmoor National Park is throwing open the doors to Exmoor House in Dulverton this weekend, offering a sneak peek at its brand-new Exmoor National Park Centre. The Centre has relocated to the historic Exmoor House, the National Park Authority's headquarters, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the National Park.
As part of the Dulverton by Starlight event on Sunday, December 1, the public is invited to explore the revamped Centre. Dan James, Enterprise and Communications Manager for Exmoor National Park, expressed his delight with the transition, stating: "We are really pleased with how well the transition has gone, the remodelled entrance to Exmoor House offers a warm welcome and it’s enabled us to continue to offer the 'wow' customer service that our Centres are famous for."
He added: "It was a difficult decision to relocate our award-winning Centre, but with core funding being reduced by over 50 per cent in real terms we had to find significant savings. However, I am so pleased that, rather than lose the service, this has allowed us to make savings while maintaining face to face information provision for users of the National Park, just a couple of minutes walk from the town square in Dulverton, the southern gateway to Exmoor."

Although some finishing touches remain, the new Centre is eager to showcase its new home alongside the Starlight event.
"Our fantastic Centre teams meet and greet over 150,000 visitors each year helping to inform and inspire them to explore this special place, and to contribute positively to our communities and landscapes."
The three Exmoor National Park Centres, located in Dulverton, Dunster, and Lynmouth, have all received awards from the South West Tourism Awards. These centres provide expert advice, as well as a variety of displays, exhibits, resources, and merchandise, to help bring the story of Exmoor to life and inspire and inform people about the National Park.
On Sunday, December 1, the Dulverton Centre will be open from 2 pm to 7 pm for a preview of the new Centre, with a limited selection of products available for purchase. This event is part of the Dulverton by Starlight festivities taking place throughout the town.
The official reopening of the Dulverton National Park Centre is scheduled for Spring 2025.
The Exmoor National Park Centre in Lynmouth is open 7 days a week, year-round (10 am - 3 pm during winter), while the Dunster Centre is open on weekends until Sunday, December 8, and will reopen in Spring 2025.
