A quick recap of Blink Twice's plot
Frida (Naomi Ackie) and Jess (Alia Shawkat) are whisked away to an island in the middle of nowhere when Frida hits it off with tech billionaire Slater (Channing Tatum) at a charity event they are working as drinks staff. At first, it seems like they’re on a perfect holiday. But soon, the weird things start to pile up, and Jess goes missing. Frida is the only one who notices. She starts to put together that something is very, very wrong on this island.
What happens in Blink Twice?
Frida isn’t the only one who notices the weirdness. She and fellow partygoer Sarah (Adria Arjona) decide to try to figure it out together. They realise the perfume they’ve been spraying on themselves every morning is actually a drug that is making them forget things and every night, the men of the party have been chasing and sexually assaulting the women. But because they’re being drugged, when the women wake up the following day, they don’t remember anything that happened the night before, so they can’t do anything about it. They are also, like, in the middle of nowhere without their phones and don’t have any way of getting home.
Frida and Sarah realise that the only way they can get off the island is to enlist the help of the other women. So they take the snake venom, which is the antidote to the amnesia drug, and give it to the other women.
Blink Twice's big twist and ending explained
Frida finds a Polaroid of her and Slater together, and she puts it together (and Slater confirms) that she has been here before. That’s why she has a scar on her face. On her previous visit, she fell and hit a rock while trying to escape. Revealing that she’s experienced the same trauma and abuse twice makes a very sinister movie feel even more sinister.
By the time the evening rolls around, the women are ready to fight back. They go along with the dinner and pretend everything is fine, but then it turns into an all-out bloodbath as they try to escape their captors, killing them in the process.
Frida and Sarah survive, and when Frida has the opportunity to kill Slater, she doesn’t. Sarah asks her if she knows what she’s doing by keeping him alive. Then the movie flashes forward to the future, and Frida is with Slater, running his company.
It’s revealed that she’s been drugging his vape with the same drug he used on her, which makes him forget. She kept him alive so that she could basically steal his entire life and fortune. That’s where the movie ends.
