Extinction Rebellion activists are walking through Westminster, spray-painting red hand prints onto Government buildings, in the latest stage of the group's protests.

The "red hand" demonstration saw activists spray-paint prints using washable chalk spray to mark the path of today’s march from Whitehall Gardens to six government departments.

It came after protesters have blocked a junction at Oxford Circus, stopping traffic from passing and forcing police to use a JCB to remove activists from a tall wooden structure.

Meanwhile, the group has posted a further statement on yesterday's tube disruption, saying that "anyone can carry out any action in the name of XR".
