Extremely unusual artwork could fetch silly amount in Devon
Fifty Crates of Crafts in North Devon has introduced "Carrot : Tamed," an innovative artwork by Torridge based artist Paul Issac Simon Sylvester Take.
This one-of-a-kind piece features a large orange carrot secured to a green board with silver tape, offering a unique blend of nature and artistry to viewers at the store.
“This new piece highlights the significance of using unconventional mediums like carrots and paper tape to bring a fresh perspective to the art world,” said Paul Take, artist.

“My move to North Devon has unlocked a kaleidoscope of new possibilities in my artistic explorations, infusing my works with the essence of this enchanting landscape.”
Carrot : Tamed is the first of a series of works planned by Take, all of which will be available to view at Fifty Crates of Crafts in Appledore and to buy via auction.
“We are overjoyed to showcase 'Carrot : Tamed' at Fifty Crates of Crafts,” added Andrew Cross, owner, Fifty Crates of Crafts. “To be selected as the home of this perspective challenging new piece is a very proud moment.”
The centre perhaps will be hoping to match the $6.2m (£4.9m) which somebody purchased Maurizio Cattelan's provocative artwork of a banana duct-taped to a wall at Sotheby's in New York - four times higher than pre-sale estimates.
Located at Docton Court in Appledore, Fifty Crates of Crafts offers self-created and handmade arts and crafts from residents of North Devon. For further information and pictures, please contact Andrew Cross on 07886854196 or by email, hello@fiftycratesofcrafts.co.uk.
