The Scarlet Speedster is teasing some major disruption when Barry Allen returns to screens for 2020's Flashpoint.

After running off with our hearts in Zack Snyder's Justice League, some fans might be expecting a similarly light-hearted tone from the Flash when he suits up for his own movie.

Audiences may not have been bowled over by Justice League, but there is no denying that Miller's performance lives up to Snyder's promise of a funnier DCEU entry.

However, away from all the quips and smiles, actor Ezra Miller revealed to Heroic Hollywood that the upcoming Flashpoint will change the entire DCEU.

"What fans understand when they hear Flashpoint would be almost like hearing a word like 'Crisis'," warned Miller. "We start to understand that our precious DC universe will inevitably be torn asunder to an endless, headache-inducing fabric of multiversality. The DC Hyper-Extended Multiverse, as I plan to call it. Quote me!"

Frankly, any kind of shake-up sounds good to us at this point.

Originally billed as Untitled Flash Movie, earlier this year the Flash's solo film was renamed Flashpoint.

Fans of DC's comics will know that this name ties into 2011's crossover arc of the same name – and similarly, Flashpoint on the page had huge ramifications for the ranks of the Justice League.

DC bigwig Geoff Johns went on to say that Flashpoint will adapt the comic book story in a unique way.

"There's elements in it that we're going to be playing into that we couldn't do anywhere else," promised Johns. "The scale of it, the Batman story of it all."

Little is known about where Flashpoint will take its story, but with possibilities of more Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan returning as Thomas Wayne, and a female Joker, even Justice League can't stop us from getting excited.

With a completed script but still no director, Flashpoint looks just about ready to put on its running shoes for that 2020 release date.
