Max Verstappen has built up a 70-point lead over Charles Leclerc in the F1 Drivers’ Championship after winning the Hungarian Grand Prix ahead of the mid-season break.

Leclerc looked set to make up for his crash at the French Grand Prix after starting in P3 in Budapest as Verstappen was back in P1, but a strategy nightmare turned the tables.

Verstappen looks highly likely to follow up last season’s title triumph with another come the end of the season, while Mercedes pair George Russell and Lewis Hamilton continue to improve.
