Families looking to get in to the festive spirit can enjoy a market on the magnificent grounds of an impressive Victorian mansion. Waddesdon Manor- one of the National Trust's most popular properties- has held its Christmas Fair for over two decades and is often named amongst Buckinghamshire's best annual events.

The beloved month-long market is kicking off on Friday, November 15 and features over 70 charming chalets decked in twinkling lights. Visitors are promised a magical shopping experience thanks to the many local businesses selling unique homeware, jewellery, crafts, skincare and pet accessories, as well as Christmas gifts and decorations.

Food stalls will be serving up goods from around the world, including homemade kimchi, charcuterie, cheeses, jams, baked goods and much, much more. You can also enjoy a tipple (or two) from the likes of Abingdon Distillery, which produces small batch spirits, or Daws Hill Vineyard, which makes wine just 45 minutes away from Waddesdon Manor.

The fair is included in the entry fee for the sprawling grounds which this year have been transformed by a colourful Sleeping Beauty-themed light trail that includes a stop-off to meet Siberian huskies. The Manor's façade is also getting a festive makeover with a kaleidoscope of colour and movement being projected on to it every evening.

The grounds alone make for a great day as there is plenty to explore- and they're dog-friendly! Children will love spotting exotic birds at the aviary or hiding in the woodland playground, whilst nature lovers can embark on hour-long strolls alongside patchwork fields of deer and sheep.

You can also enjoy Once upon a Christmas Time, an installation of artwork created by 15,000 schoolchildren from around Buckinghamshire. Look out for references to Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty, and the Three Billy Goats Gruff as you wander the Coach House Gallery.

Adult tickets start at £22 and children get in for a tenner. You can pick a time slot and book your tickets here.
