Fairytale six-bedroom log cabin on sale in the Scottish highlands for less than an Edinburgh flat
A unique and magical property has gone on-sale in Nairnside, Inverness, and it honestly looks like something out of a fantasy movie.
Described by estate agent Hamish Homes Ltd. as "one of the most unique homes in the country", the log cabin - well, more of a log mansion, really - was crafted from giant Douglas Fir logs and "is ideally situated in one of the most romantic settings in Northern Scotland".
It's listed for offers over £900,000.

In contrast, a flat currently for sale in a relatively uninspiring brick-fronted building in Edinburgh will set you back £930,000, even though it only has two bedrooms.
Fasgadh, as the log cabin is called, sits in extensive grounds surrounded by trees, hedgerows and lawns and is accessed via a private drive.
It has several skylights to make sure the interior is nice and bright, and in the living room there's a stone hearth housing a freestanding log burner. Underfloor heating will also keep you cosy in winter.
The kitchen is stunning; fitted with glossy grey cabinets and featuring natural wood flooring and oiled wooden worktops with stainless steel sections.
There is also a verandah that wraps around the side of the first floor. The family bathroom is a particular delight.
It features a huge glass and wood-framed shower enclosure lined with slate, and a Japanese soaking tub.
Fasgadh has a huge attic as well, divided up into several cute box beds, which the listing describes as "ideal for children’s slumber parties."
You might be forgiven for thinking "OK, fine, but it's probably in the middle of nowhere, unlike that Edinburgh flat", but you couldn't be further from the truth.
It is actually just 15 minutes drive from the centre of Inverness, and nine minutes from Culloden.
