Family Guy and Bob's Burgers renewed by Fox

From Digital Spy

Good news for fans of Family Guy and Bob's Burgers — both shows have been renewed by Fox.

The two animated sitcoms, which have run since 1999 and 2011 respectively, are among a number of series that have been given the go-ahead for Fox's 2020/21 TV season.

Family Guy will go into its 19th season – which will also see it mark its 350th episode – while Bob's Burgers gets an 11th season, also marking a milestone with its 200th episode.

The renewal of Family Guy is happy news for fans, especially after creator Seth McFarlane recently landed a new deal with NBCUniversal.

The deal, which is worth a reported $200 million, means that the creator and his company Fuzzy Door will produce TV projects for NBCUniversal's networks and platforms.

However, it was not expected that Fox's Family Guy and McFarlane's other big animated series American Dad, which airs on TBS, would be affected.

"My relationship with Universal predates this new chapter, and if my experience producing television with UCP is anything like the experience I've had producing films with the company, it will be an exciting and creatively fulfilling one for me and for Fuzzy Door," he previously said.

"I will remain indebted to my good friend Dana Walden and the team at 20th for their collaborative partnership over the years, and I look forward to our continued work together on Family Guy, American Dad and The Orville."
