The family of a Russian oligarch killed in a car crash in Surrey today paid to tribute to the “most amazing person who filled our lives”.

Billionaire Dmitry Obretetsky died on Saturday after being knocked down while walking his dog near his home in Oxshott on November 25 in a collision involving three vehicles.

His black labrador was also killed.

After a series of suspicious deaths involving Russian oligarchs living in the UK, a friend has suggested he may have been deliberately targeted.

In a statement his family said: “We have lost a most amazing person who filled our lives... we would ask people not to speculate on the circumstances of the incident.”

All three drivers involved in the crash spoke to police and no arrests were made.

But Pavel Borovkov, a friend of Mr Obretetsky, said: “I don’t exclude the fact that he was specially knocked down.”
