Family sue after being left nothing in David Gest’s will

The family of I’m A Celebrity star David Gest have started legal action after being left with nothing in his will following his death in April.

The American music producer left behind an estimated fortune of almost £10million – and he left pretty much ALL of it to his attorney Edward Bearman.

Bearman was also handed the star’s five bedroom home in the US, which later sold for £450,000, as well as money, clothes that belonged to the star’s friend Michael Jackson and a secret pop memorabilia collection said to be worth somewhere in the region of £1.6million.

Gest’s sister Barbara Gerber is suing the will’s executors, who just happen to work at the same US law firm as the star’s attorney.

The only other benefactor in the Celebrity Big Brother star’s will was ex-bodyguard and best pal Imad Handi, who said: “I was left £18,000. I am upset and his family are upset. He told me I would be looked after. I’ve no idea why he left Bearman almost everything.”

Imad also explained that Gest, who was 62 when he died of a stroke at the Four Seasons hotel in Canary Wharf, regularly changed his will in the last year before he died.

The LA-born star’s sister Barbara still lives in the city, and their mum, who has Alzheimer’s, lives in a care home.

The executors of the will stressed that everything had been done legally.
