Family wakes up as night prowlers strike at two homes
Police are hunting night prowlers are two nearby homes were targeted over two nights. Officers are carrying out house-to-house inquiries after the attempted break-ins at the properties in Werrington.
In one incident, the householder - at an address near Moss Park Avenue - woke up on October 29 to find the door had been damaged. And a resident near Washerwall Lane also discovered their patio door handled had been tampered with the previous night,
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for information following to two attempted burglaries in Werrington. Just before 8.10am on Monday, October 28, we were called to an address near to Washerwall Lane after damage was caused to a patio door handle during the night.

"No-one entered the property and nothing was taken. Then, at 8.30am on Tuesday, October 29, we received a report of an attempted break-in at a property near to Moss Park Avenue. After waking up, the occupant found a broken door handle and the remains of a lock barrel on the floor outside the address.
"Again, no-one entered the property and nothing was taken. Officers have examined CCTV and carried out a forensic analysis of the scenes and house-to-house enquiries.
"We’re keen to speak to anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, or those with information that can help us with our investigation."
