A graffiti wall in a popular Essex park that has been become famous for the artwork on it is sadly being taken down. The graffiti wall at Riverside Park in Burnham-on-Crouch is being taken down in the next few weeks due to "safety concerns".

The wall is the remains of a former storage area for the old games area that was next to it. This wall was left in place and became a graffiti wall, which has all sorts of lovely artwork on it.

However, in a statement from Maldon District Council, it has been decided that the wall has now "come to the end of its life". It will be taken down at the end of January or the beginning of February.

Maldon District Council said: "The graffiti wall at Riverside Park in Burnham-on-Crouch will be removed at the end of January/early February. This decision has been made due to safety concerns as the structure has now come to the end of its life.

"Please be aware that there may be some noise during the removal works, but rest assured, access to the park will be maintained throughout the process. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."
