Famous Newcastle night club to have totally sober daytime rave with top DJ on decks

Patrick Topping says he's been 'blown away' by the response to his plans to host an alcohol free rave in Newcastle next month, with demand for tickets to his Sober October event set to go through the roof.

North Tyneside DJ Patrick has seen his star rise and rise over the last few years, as well as being streamed millions of times on Spotify, founding his own record label Trick and locking down residencies in Ibiza, the Geordie star hosted his own festival on home turf this summer, with him lining up a stellar mix of top DJs from all over the world for TrickFest in Newcastle, the first day of this year's LooseFest on the Town Moor.

And, basking in the success of the event that pulled in well over 10,000 people and saw him play two sets, Patrick has just announced his Sober October rave at World Headquarters in Newcastle City Centre on Sunday, October 27. The event will be completely tee-total and run from 2-8pm, with the line-up to be confirmed.

Delighted with the response to it so far, Patrick took top Instagram to write: "Blown away by the response to this! I was nervous putting it out there, but so many loved the idea. The most requested place was my home town, so we doing it at @worldheadquartersclub! This is a proper intimate underground venue. I haven’t played a club this small in the UK in years, so I think this going to be such a legendary vibe"

World Headquarters are equally thrilled to be chosen as the location for the rave, with them posting: "For us as a venue, it's a great opportunity to invite in some of our community who might not be able to make it down to regular club shows due to sobriety and mental health issues.

"We will be creating a safe and totally alcohol free environment and we tip our cap to Patrick for using his platform to take on such an important issue"
