Fans Invade Pitch After Man City Comeback Seals Title

Manchester City scored three goals in five minutes to beat Aston Villa and seal the Premier League title on Sunday, May 22.

City held a narrow one-point lead over Liverpool heading into the final day of games. All matches on Sunday were played at the same time, adding to the drama as fans checked scores of the other fixtures.

With a quarter hour remaining in City’s game against Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola’s squad trailed 2-0, while Liverpool was tied 1-1 with Wolverhampton. Five more goals would be scored between the two games — Liverpool netted two in their match, but Manchester City scored three of their own, winning the game and securing the title.
