The Swedish DJ and record producer - real name Tim Bergling - died on April 20, 2018 by suicide in Muscat, Oman, at the age of 28.

Fans have paid tribute to Avicii on Twitter, sharing messages about their favourite songs and quotes from the musician.

“2 years ago today, the world still misses you every day. Legends never die, We love you Tim. Forever in our hearts. Thanks for your music, #Avicii,” wrote one user.

Another shared two quotes from Avicii, writing: "When i die, i want to be remembered for the life i lived, not the money i Made"... "One day you'll leave this world behind So live a life you will remember.” [sic]

Avicii rose to prominence with his 2011 single Levels and his 2013 debut album True, which reached number two in the UK Albums chart.

He collaborated with prominent vocalists such as Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Robbie Williams and Rita Ora throughout his career.

A posthumous album named Tim, which Bergling had been working on before his death, was released in 2019, with proceeds going towards the Tim Bergling Foundation for mental health awareness.
