Fans pick best Secret Level episodes and which ones in Amazon Prime series you can skip
As a new Amazon Prime anthology series releases in full, fans have been picking out the best episodes to watch immediately - and the others which viewers can skip altogether.
Secret Level adapts more than a dozen video game franchises across 15 episodes in total. The series was released in two parts but the entire thing is now available to stream on the platform. It comes from the same creative minds that developed Love Death + Robots for Netflix however their latest endeavour is being met with a mixed reception.
Many fans have already aired their opinions online with some naming their favourite episodes and naming the ones they recommend viewers can skip and not bother with. The final episode, which utilises a number of PlayStation characters including Helldivers, Kratos from God of War and Sackboy from Little Big Planet is one which many say to skip.

One fan offered an alternative and said: "It pains me to say this but the PlayStation episode of Secret Level might be the worst one of the entire series. Felt like a soulless Ready Player One style ad that totally fumbles the crossover potential. Just save your time and watch the 'Michael' ad from the PS3 era instead" The 'Michael' advertising campaign used live action versions of iconic characters including Kratos and Solid Snake as they all shared stories praising 'Michael' their hero who is then pictured with a PlayStation controller in his hands.
There have been surprise hits among the episodes, with one fan naming the story which stars a comedic Arnold Schwarzenegger as the best. They posted on social media: "My favourite Secret Level episode was a shocker. It’s the one on New World. I was sceptical because it’s about the Amazon game in an Amazon showbut trust me: this was a beautiful, funny and heart warming classic fable."
The episode that serves as a sequel for the game Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 is also proving popular, with one viewer stating: "I highly recommend giving the entire 19 min episode a watch. It’s immersive and awesome. It’s a happy grim dark ray of much needed sunshine in today’s world."
As is the adaptation of a game series which began in 1987, Mega Man. One person stated: "The Mega Man episode of Amazon Prime's Secret Level is almost enough to redeem the entire, largely mediocre anthology project. So good, so fun, so well acted. Only thing stopping me from rating it *Perfect* is that it's not longer."
While some are suggesting viewers skip the episode based on Concord, as it is 'just an advert for a now non-existent game' there is an unexpected entry for one no one should miss. One person posted: "I thought the PAC-Man episode of Secret Level was awesome. What a cool reimagining of a character we all know like this. Why is the PAC-Man orb trying to escape? Who put it there? Who made it, for what purpose? Where was it put? Lots of cool questions here. And there’s a game of this coming out too called Shadow Labyrinth. Sign me up."
Some fans posting in a Reddit thread also suggest that the decision for which episodes to skip depend on which games viewers have played. They say if viewers have not played Sifu or Spelunky, they should watch those episodes to see if the concepts interest them. The official X account has already revealed that Secret Level has been the largest debut for an animated series for Amazon and a second season is now on the way.
