Fans praise Big Brother host AJ Odudu for calling out contestant

Big Brother viewers praised host AJ Odudu for calling out finalist Marcello over offensive comments he made in the house.

In last night's (November 15) show, Marcello finished as runner-up to winner Ali. In his exit interview with AJ and co-host Will Best, it was pointed out that he received a "mixed reaction" from fans over certain things he said.

One comment highlighted was when he responded to Sarah explaining she was vegan by claiming that her "pH levels were probably off".

When he responded that he "didn't mean it personally", Will asked him what he meant by that, but AJ interjected.

"Let's not let you elaborate because I'm just gonna tell you, as a woman, that that is an offensive thing to say," she told him.

"I didn't know that," he replied. "It was a boy banter thing I probably should have kept to the friendship group, but it wasn’t personal and Sarah knows how much I love her and she knows I was joking."

"It may be boys' banter but it's not OK," AJ added.

Viewers praised AJ for holding Marcello to account for his comments, sharing plenty of meme videos on social media to express how pleased they were with the situation, although some felt like his behaviour hadn't been deservedly criticised on prior episodes of Late & Live.

In her own interview with AJ and Will, Ali admitted that she had "made mistakes [and] sometimes I didn't get things right".

She ended up winning with 51.9% of all five million votes cast across the final six housemates.

ITV had already confirmed that the next season of Celebrity Big Brother will air in the spring of 2025, and will be followed by the return of the civilian series later next year.
