Yahoo News Fans praise 'courageous' Little Mix star Jesy Nelson after 'Odd One Out' documentary
Jesy Nelson has been called “courageous” and “inspirational” after opening up about the devastating effect of cyber-bullying and how it led to her attempting suicide.
The Little Mix singer, 28, documented her struggles with online abuse in BBC programme Odd One Out.
Nelson told how she became almost obsessed with reading negative comments about herself after she found fame on The X Factor in 2011.

She hit rock bottom after facing more abuse about her appearance when she returned to the show two years later, and attempted to take her own life.
Having started to recover when she came off Twitter, Nelson is now raising awareness of the effect of online abuse.
The eye-opening programme triggered a huge response on social media, where Nelson was praised for her bravery in coming forward.

Actress Emily Atack said she thought the documentary should be shown in schools.
“Jesy Nelson’s Odd One Out - show it in schools, tell your mates, watch it,” she urged. “Let’s knock this s*** on the head.”

Tulisa Contostavlos, who mentored Little Mix on The X Factor, wrote: “‘Dear Jesy. What a brave, beautiful, talented and loved girl you are.
“Knowing you were going through all of this in silence breaks my heart but to see the person you have become, rise above the dark times and now be in a place to help others shows the world just how strong you have always been.”

Fans were also bowled over by the documentary.
