Fans Sitting on Stairs Escorted Out of Copa America Final

Fans sitting on stairs inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, were seen being made to leave by security ahead of the Copa America final on Sunday, July 14.

The final, between Argentina and Colombia, was delayed by more than an hour after thousands of fans without tickets tried to enter the stadium.

Videos circulating on social media shows fans running outside the stadium and scaling fences.

In a statement, Hard Rock Stadium said thousands of fans without tickets tried to forcibly enter the stadium.

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) said that individuals without tickets would not be allowed entry into the stadium.

“Only those with purchased tickets will be permitted entry once access is reopened,” it said.

X user @FranciscoEfV said he filmed this video, where a woman can be seen telling the seated fans “let’s go” and motioning for them to go downstairs.
