Fantastic Beasts 2's poster and title reveal last week had a Deathly Hallows connection that you might have missed.

Not only does the motion poster have a smoke pattern that looks exactly like the Deathly Hallows symbol, but the I in "Crimes" could combine with the G and A in "Grindelwald" to form the symbol too.

So what exactly does this mean? The poster for the first movie hid the reveal in plain sight that Colin Farrell's Percival Graves was actually Johnny Depp's Gellert Grindelwald by having a necklace with the symbol.

And we know that Gellert has history with the Deathly Hallows as, along with Albus Dumbledore, he sought to unite the three Hallows (the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone and the Cloak of Invisibility), and he later briefly came into possession of the Elder Wand after stealing it.

The two fell out over their different motivations for finding the Deathly Hallows and, since we know that Fantastic Beasts 2 will show us Dumbledore and Grindelwald as teenagers, perhaps the sequel will feature this quest for the Deathly Hallows.

Also, the sequel's official title is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, so this could fit as one of his "crimes".

Then again, before his transformation in the first movie, Graves gave the Deathly Hallows necklace to Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller) in case he ever needed to summon him.

So perhaps the Deathly Hallows nod in the poster is something to do with Miller's character instead, especially as it's now been officially confirmed that he is returning for the sequel.

We'll have to wait to find out when Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits cinemas on November 16, 2018.
