Fantastic Beasts 2 producers face backlash over Johnny Depp’s casting after abuse allegations
Fantastic Beasts fans have criticised producers for casting Johnny Depp in the film sequel, following domestic abuse allegations against him.
A number of viewers slammed the casting choice on social media after it was revealed that the follow-up film, titled The Crimes of Grindelwald, will mainly focus on Depp’s character.
While Depp appeared in just one scene at the end of the first film, fans had called to have replaced for the sequel after his ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of physical and emotional abuse.
“If Ridley Scott can fire Kevin Spacey, after filming an entire movie with him and voluntarily reshooting it a month before release, then y'all can do the same thing w Johnny Depp bc you still have a year to go #FantasticBeasts,” one person wrote on Twitter.
