Fantasy football scout tips gameweek 34+: Mason Greenwood, Heung-Min Son, Michail Antonio and more

Mason Greenwood

Retaining his place from in our gameweek 33+ tips, there really is no reason not to have Greenwood by this point. The Manchester United teenager has three goals in his last two appearances.

What’s more, Greenwood has started each of United’s last three games as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have settled on a first-choice starting line-up. Next up it’s Aston Villa, who still have the top flight’s worst defence despite recent signs of defensive improvement.

Heung-Min Son

Tottenham may not appear to be an attractive prospect at the moment but any team playing Bournemouth deserves our attention, given how Eddie Howe’s side are spiralling towards the Championship.

Steven Bergwijn and Harry Kane are both worth consideration, though we are tipping Son after he walked away with the most shots on goal of any player in Monday’s night drab 1-0 victory over Everton.

Phil Foden

Another youngster who survives from last week’s picks, but Foden did not score nearly as many points as Greenwood and instead fell victim to Pep Guardiola’s infamous rotation policy, only coming on as a 59th-minute substitute.

That is always the risk when picking fringe Manchester City players, but Foden can be more confident of starting against a Newcastle United side that will surely struggle at the Etihad on Wednesday night.

Benjamin Mendy

Sticking with City, Guardiola’s defence is unlikely to be seriously tested by Newcastle, even if we account for their improvement under Steve Bruce since the resumption, and Oleksandr Zinchenko’s costly error at St Mary’s will likely lead to a change at left-back.

That paves the way for Benjamin Mendy, provided he has recovered from the minor fitness issues which kept him out of Sunday’s defeat. If Guardiola gives him the all clear at Tuesday’s press conference, he is one to target.

Michail Antonio

If you want to get ahead of the curve, West Ham have a run of enticing fixtures coming up between now and the end of the season, and a home meeting with Burnley on Wednesday night is not a bad start either.

Antonio not only has two goals in two games, but leads David Moyes’s squad in xG-per-90 this season. He is also playing out of position - classified as a midfielder, yet operating a lone striker. One to watch.
