A one hour and 20 minute drive from Cambridge, along the M11, will bring you to Marsh Farm. Nestled in the Essex countryside, this spot in South Woodham Ferrers is ideal for young farmers.

Marsh Farm offers regular activities alongside indoor and outdoor play areas. This year, a 'Bubble 'n' Bop' children's festival is running from July to September, and promises to be "bursting with fun".

Visitors can also explore a trail that winds around paddocks housing sheep and goats, leads into a chicken run, past horses, and into the heart of the farm where modern piggery, cow and sheep pens are located. During summer, tractor and pony rides add an extra layer of authenticity to the farm experience.

In addition to its regular offerings, Marsh Farm hosts special events and activities. Future archaeologists are invited to dig up dinosaurs and clamber over prehistoric boulders at a unique dinosaur adventure event, which will end on June 2, reports Essex Live.

Once the little ones have had their fill of fun, there are numerous places to refuel. The Playbarn serves hot and cold seasonal dishes, while Grab n' Go is perfect for those eager to continue exploring the farm. Picnic areas are also available for those wishing to dine al fresco.
