Farmer shouts 'get off my land' as he uses quad bike to confront hunt saboteurs

A farmer has been filmed shouting "get off my land" while on a quad bike as he confronted hunt saboteurs.

Trouble broke out when members of the West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs filmed the Atherstone Hunt on Saturday afternoon.

The farmer, dressed in green overalls, is recorded driving a quad bike up to three men and shouting at them to "get off my land".

He is then filmed jumping off the bike before pushing one of the group into a ditch before turning on the other two protesters.

As the men walk backwards along the track, the man continues to drive towards them with his quad bike, shouting: "You are on private property, I can do what I want."

In one moment, the man's quad bike knocks one of the group off his feet and into a ditch.

A West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs spokesman said: "If the quad bike carried on it could have landed on him in the ditch."

The video was filmed during the hunt near the Leicestershire village of Ratcliffe Culey.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "Officers are investigating an allegation of assault after a man sustained minor injuries in Ratcliffe Culey, Leicestershire, at the weekend.

"A report was made at 12.31pm on Saturday, October 14 which related to the victim having sustained an injury as a result of being involved in a collision with a quad bike. Enquiries are continuing into the incident."
