Stars of Avatar and The Fast and The Furious will be teaming up to appear in a new sci-fi thriller called Hello Stranger.

Sam Worthington, who played Jake Sully in Avatar, and Jordana Brewster, who played Mia Toretto in seven Fast and Furious movies, will be joining Yellowstone's Luke Grimes in the new movie, reported Deadline.

The film sees Brewster playing a woman named Faye, who attempts to replace her recently dead husband Evan with an android simulant, also called a SIM.

The SIM Evan looks like the real Evan but Faye does not love him the same way. SIM Evan tries to win her over while hiding from a government agent (Worthington) aiming to chase down SIMs who could be a threat to humankind.

The screenplay was written by Ryan Christopher Churchill while April Mullen will be directing the film, a follow-up to her feature Wander, which starred Aaron Eckhart, Katheryn Winnick, and Tommy Lee Jones.

Hello Stranger producer Tim Doiron said: "The addition of Sam and Jordana to Hello Stranger takes on an already stellar creative team to the next level. We have secured our dream cast for this film and cannot wait bring this project to life."

There is no slated release date for the film as of yet as filming has not begun, so we shouldn't expect to see it any time soon.

It was confirmed that Brewster will not be reprising her role in the final Fast and Furious film. As well as the action franchise, she has also starred in Annapolis, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Random Acts of Violence, and Hooking Up.

Her co-star Worthington has had a long filmography aside from Avatar, having appeared in Terminator Salvation, Clash of the Titans, Hacksaw Ridge, The Titan, and in Manhunt: Unabomber. He will also be reprising his role as Jake Sully in the second and third Avatar films, set for release in 2022 and 2024 respectively.
