Fast-Spreading Mountain Fire Destroys Homes in Ventura County
Firefighters in Ventura County, California, were working through the night into Thursday, November 7, local officials said, as the Mountain Fire burned more than 14,000 acres on Wednesday, damaging several structures.
Footage released by the local fire department shows firefighting efforts in Camarillo Heights.
The Ventura County Fire Department said the fire had burned 14,187 acres by Wednesday night, with at least 800 firefighters assigned.
According to local media, officials were especially concerned about the fire’s “dangerous rate of spread”.
The fire had damaged several houses according to reports, but no deaths were reported.
