The National Weather Service issued a “flash flood emergency” for parts of New York and New Jersey on September 1 as the remnants of Hurricane Ida brought severe weather to the region.
This footage, filmed in Passaic, New Jersey, according to Scarlett Sanchez, shows torrents of water flowing down a street.
Passaic Mayor Hector Lora told local news a 70-year-old man died after being trapped in a car swept away by floodwater.
