This will probably come as no shock to you, but I absolutely love my Instant Pot — the ubiquitous kitchen marvel that can do everything from pressure cook to whip up yogurt. But what may come as a surprise is all the various goodies I use it to make — soups, stews, curries, even cheesecake — and the various extras I fit it with to turn it into even more of a multipurpose powerhouse.
There are steamer baskets for the easiest veggies ever and extra pots for when you're cooking multiple dishes at once. There are even bakeware slings for things like lasagna. Add-ons are typically inexpensive and definitely worth it — they'll elevate your Instant Pot experience and make the machine so much more useful.
I use my Instant Pot a lot, so an extra inner cooking pot makes things easier. I can have one ready to go while the other is in the fridge or dishwasher. It also comes in handy when cooking one thing right after the other.
Have leftovers? Store them in the Instant Pot’s inner pot itself, and cut down on the dishes you'll need to do later. Just pop on this silicone cover to safely keep that chili in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch.
The Instant Pot can get super hot. Using a good pair of pot holders helps ensure you won’t get burned as you lift things out of the device. This pair is made of silicone, so it’s both heat-proof and water-proof.
I suggest getting extra sealing rings so that the odor of one meal doesn’t affect the other. (You don’t really want your cheesecake to smell like pulled pork or vice versa.) This BPA-free and dishwasher-safe set lets you use one for sweet foods, and the other for savory.
Aozita Stackable Steamer Insert Pans
These stackable stainless steel inserts let you cook multiple foods at once. You'll get two lids: one with holes to steam vegetables, rice, meat or fish and an air-tight top for baking, cooking, re-heating or storing.
First off, it's so much faster than the "old" way: A dish that would take a whole day in a slow cooker can be ready to serve in mere minutes in the Instant Pot. This is especially important when I’ve had a busy workday and feel too lazy to cook. With the Instant Pot, getting dinner ready is so easy and fast that I’ve cut down on the number of times I order takeout. I eat much healthier as a result.

LAST week I was strolling by the Tweed near Melrose when I saw a woman ahead of me, wearing shorts and carrying a back-pack fit for Annapurna. Well into her seventies, she said she was late setting off. After hurting her leg the previous day, she had needed to wait for Boots to open.
The British auto industry, already reeling from a severe shortage of semiconductors, is now bracing for a cost of living crisis in the country as people limit their spending to necessities and stay away from big ticket items. New car registrations in Britain fell to 140,958 units, according to final figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). In May, SMMT cut 2022 outlook for new cars registered to 1.72 million from 1.89 million forecast earlier.
