Fear the Walking Dead saw Dwight cross over in the third episode of the season where he reunited with Morgan after they both ended up in the same part of the country.

In the episode, Dwight revealed that he was still searching for his missing wife Sherry, and that the clues that he followed had led him to Texas.

While some people have suggested that it's a large coincidence Dwight and Morgan have crossed paths again, co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss told Entertainment Weekly that season 5 will address how they arrived at the same area.

"They were in some of the bigger group scenes [in The Walking Dead], but Morgan and Dwight hadn't actually had a lot of personal one-to-one interaction," Chambliss said.

"They obviously both kind of know each other as characters and their history. So I think when they find each other, it was really the surprise that these two people ended up in the same place.

"And we give some hints that there are some reasons that they both ended up in the same area in Texas. And there's a little bit of back and forth where they're talking about what roads they took.

"I think we'll learn a little more about what forces drove them to this area."

Dwight isn't the only crossover this season of Fear the Walking Dead.

The season premiere teased a connection to Rick Grimes, as one of the walkers that the group encountered wore a symbol of three interlocking circles – the same symbol that appeared on the helicopter that took Rick away in The Walking Dead season 9.

"There's a little thing that turns out into kind of a big thing that connects to something outside of both shows, which people will be seeing," Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple recently said.
