Fed up Edinburgh locals hit out at 'packed pavements' during Christmas markets
Edinburgh locals have all said the same thing about the Christmas markets after a tongue-in-cheek video went viral online.
The Christmas Markets opened up on Friday November 15 and thousands of people descended on Princes Street to celebrate the festivities.
As opening night got underway, people lined up outside the gardens with the queue starting on Waverley Bridge and snaking round to Princes Street.

Following the first busy week of the markets, a tongue-in-cheek video posted online shows one local walking along the packed shopping street as crowds swarm the pavement.
The video collected over 12,000 likes and 82,000 views with over 100 locals taking to the comments to express their thoughts on the festive season in Edinburgh.
Melanie, who posted the video on TikTok said: "I promise I'm not an angry person, I just live in Edinburgh and it's the Christmas season."
One local said: "It's the lack of spatial awareness and the random stopping to an abrupt halt on Princes Street that sends me over the edge."
Another person comment: "Praying for you. I moved out to Mussey to escape the hell that is Edinburgh at Christmas (and the fringe)."
One comment reads: "Never been in a worse mood than when I visited town on Saturday as an Edinburgh local."
However, not everyone has the same attitude towards the market with many excited for the month of festivities.

One local said: "Seems like I'm the opposite on here lol I live in Edinburgh and love that people come to my city. December and August. Great for tourism."
Another person commented: "I've lived in places like this, it means you live in a beautiful and historic place people want to visit. Helps give some perspective on the annoyances when its busy."

Organisers of Edinburgh’s Christmas, Unique Assembly, told Edinburgh Live they are expecting large crowds at peak times, such as the weekend. For those wanting to avoid them it is best to pop by at the start of the week.
