Fellbeck crash: Baby fighting for their life after horror campervan smash

A baby has been seriously injured in a head-on crash in North Yorkshire. Three adults and a teenager have also been hurt.

North Yorkshire Police want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the horrific crash on the B6265 last night. It happened at around 3.20pm yesterday (Friday, May 31) near the village of Fellbeck.

A Peugeot Boxer campervan and a Volkswagen T-Roc crashed head on between Glasshouses and Risplith. The camper, which has blue paintwork, was heading towards Glasshouses and the T-Roc was travelling in the opposite direction.

Three adults, a teenager and a one-year old baby, who were all in the T-Roc, have suffered injuries "ranging from slight to serious". The baby has been seriously hurt and remains in hospital. The campervan driver suffered minor injuries and has been interviewed under caution by the police.

The road was closed while paramedics treated those injured before taking them to the hospital. Police then carried out an extensive investigation of the scene. It reopened at around 2.30am this morning. The driver remains under investigation.

In a statement, a police spokesperson urged people to get in touch. They said: "We are appealing to anyone who saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision and to anyone who witnessed it, to get in touch.

"We’re also appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of either of the vehicles before the collision and of the collision, to get in touch."
