Pic1: I met up with Councillor Graeme Brooks when he added his voice to concerns over the survival of businesses on Greenock's West Blackhall Street. The shops, already reeling from obstructions caused by the remodelling of the area, now have to face disruption again, this time for the construction of a cycle track many people think few cyclists will use.

Pic2: I took this picture as deputy first minister Kate Forbes talked with Ferguson Marine union leaders John McMunagle and Alex Logan during a meeting to discuss the yard's future. Workers are faced with uncertainty, and hope the government comes up with the support necessary to keep Inverclyde on the shipbuilding map.

Pic3: Looking more like a superyacht rather than a cruise ship, I caught this pic of adventure holiday ship Le Bellot as she made her way past Greenock's Esplanade to the ocean terminal on a sunny morning.

Pic4: Tele reporter Susan Lochrie and I wished keen hiker Sam Morris all the best for his fund-raising trek to Skye.

Sam is walking across rough terrain, and in unseasonable weather too, to raise funds for Scottish Moutain Rescue. Any Telegraph reader who would like to support Sam's challenge can do so by visiting https://virtualevent.scottishmountainrescue.org/sam-morris.
