Dancing on Ice's Ferne McCann in result row as ITV show under fire after 'unfair' exit
She was quick to admit she was 'gutted' to get the boot and Ferne McCann's exit from Dancing on Ice has led to the show landing in hot water with irate viewers, who are furious over the decision to axe the skate-off.
Having started well as she made her debut on the ITV series earlier this month, ex TOWIE and I'm A Celebrity star Ferne was back in action on the rink on Sunday for Movie Week. She and pro partner Brendyn Hatfield ended in fourth position on the leaderboard after their Trolls themed routine to Earth, Wind & Fire classic September, but, with two ties in the rankings, including three couples on the same score, the potential for a shock result was increased.
Sadly for Ferne and Brendyn, they ended up being the victims of an unexpected turn of events, with them sent straight out of the competition, having finished bottom of the public vote. Much to the anger of Dancing on Ice fans, the show's skate-off has been shelved and won't come into play until later on in the series; that meant Ferne, just like Chelsee Healey a week earlier, had no chance to fight for her place in the competition.

And the fact she is out, despite finishing eight points ahead of lowest scoring star Sir Steve Redgrave, has not gone down well with fans. Taking to X, one blasted: "Dancing on Ice voting. What a joke. Steve can barely stand up on skates. Charlie just got pushed around the ice by her partner. Yet Ferne who actually had a half-decent routine is voted off."
Equally annoyed and addressing the absence of the skate-off, a second fumed: "They should NOT have gone (yes I voted.) d.) This is unfair- especially as a couple have had to withdraw from the competition. Not even a skate off to justify. Ferne was brilliant: clearly enjoyed it &a pleasure to watch. Well done Ferne & Brendyn, you were robbed."
Among the many other comments online about the decision not to have a skate-off, another read: "So sick of producer meddling. Had there been a skate off Ferne would still be there, she skated well, whereas Redgrave :-/ Rubbish decision."
