Ferrari Supercar Meets Crumpled End In Burnley

A 200mph Ferrari has been smashed into a house in Burnley.

Lancashire Road Police tweeted pictures of the 458 Spider, worth around £200,000, crumpled against a wall in Abel Street on Sunday afternoon.

Officers described it as a "damage only car crash".

The car reportedly belongs to a Birmingham-based luxury car hire company, Platinum Executive Travel.

Self-styled Lord Aleem, whose family owns the firm, joked: "At least people in Burnley have something to talk about for a few weeks."

He also confirmed he wasn't driving the car himself when the accident happened.

"Thanks for all the kind messages. I wasn't at the wheel, and nobody was injured that's the main thing, have had a lot worse in business," he tweeted.

"I'll have that car back on road in 3 weeks Insha'Allah."

It is believed the car, which can reach 60mph in 3.4 seconds, had been hired out to a couple for a wedding.

The Lancashire Telegraph reported that police initially taped off the scene before taking the supercar away on a low loader.
