Ferry services from Dover to Calais have been cancelled due to strike action in France. P&O Ferries said port operations in Calais were currently suspended due to national industrial action in France.

Those travelling have been told to be "prepared for a potential wait". Meanwhile, drivers have been warned of "large traffic volumes" on the approach roads to the Port of Calais.

A P&O Ferries spokesperson said: "Please be advised that port operations in Calais are currently suspended due to National Action in France, expected until 4pm (CET - French time). We will update you as the situation develops.
