Fife flats fire sparks emergency response as smoke billows into air

Firefighters tackled a blaze at a block of flat in Fife last night.

Emergency services raced to Invertiel Terrace, Kirkcaldy at around 5.45pm on Saturday, November 9.

Videos from the scene showed smoke billowing in the sky as fire crews attempted to extinguish the blaze.

Locals were advised to avoid the area as mercy crews dealt with the incident. There are not believed to have been any injuries.

A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said: "We were called to Invertiel Terrace in Kirkcaldy at around 5.47pm to a dwelling fire.

"Two appliances were dispatched to the scene.

"Crews are on scene making the area safe."
