Final hearing of key court case in Georgia

Protesters in Georgia say a decision to hand ownership of one of the country’s most popular TV channels back to its former owner is a “blow to freedom of speech.”.

The Supreme Court has unanimously decided to hand control of the Rustavi 2 channel back to Kibar Khalvashi.

Opponents say he is backed by the current government and the handover is an attempt to gain control of the channel, which is critical of the authorities in Georgia.
