A goalless draw at Stevenage proved frustrating in a tight match of few goal-scoring opportunities, particularly for the Blues.
There was also the twin dismissal of Joe Rafferty and Jake Forster-Caskey in the 56th minute, following a skirmish between the pair.
Overall, a point at the Lamex Stadium was disappointing – and here are our Pompey player ratings...
Prevented certain goal when he saved Jamie Reid’s header on 20 minutes. Came out of his box well late on and was clattered by List, without punishment, while some important late punches out. (Photo: Jason Brown)

Headed one off the line early in the second half and defensively very good, particularly when required in the absence of Rafferty when playing on the left of a back three. (Photo: Jason Brown)
Became an important figure when Pompey were down to 10-men, helping organise, providing a backbone and even putting in some decent crosses from the right. Difficult to stamp his authority on the game before that, though. (Photo: Jason Brown)

(Replaced by Zak Swanson in 77 minutes) Handed right-wing role and drew a save from the keeper with Pompey’s best chance of the first half. To his credit, ran himself into the ground to help Pompey cause and looked shattered when he eventually made way.
(Replaced by Alex Robertson on 69 minutes) Positioned as a number 10 behind Bishop and there were encouraging flashes, but couldn’t contribute enough in attacking terms. Pompey still trying to bring the best out of the Irishman.
Not quite clicking for him yet, despite a couple of goals so far, although that could be a criticism of the balls played into him. Some decent moments but influence not as great as last term yet. (Photo: Jason Brown)
(Replaced by Paddy Lane on 65 minutes) Marked his full league debut for the Blues on the left-hand side of midfield. A couple of times agonisingly unable to reach a cross from the right at the far post, especially in the first half, but otherwise struggled to get involved.

(Replaced Gavin Whyte on 69 minutes) Poorest Blues showing so far, just couldn't get involved.
