A second arrest has been made after a young man was stabbed to death in north London weeks before his 21st birthday.

The victim, named locally as Kwasi Anim-Boadu, was knifed near Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s home in Finsbury Park in the early hours of Saturday.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection to the murder and bailed on Wednesday as detectives continued to investigate.

It comes after a young man, 21, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon in connection to the attack on Sunday.

The stabbing was the 39th fatal knife attack in London this year amid soaring violent crime which has seen more than 60 people killed in the capital in 2018 already.

In an emotional post online, the victim’s sister Naya wrote: “My younger brother, my only brother got stabbed to death this morning. Guys this needs to stop. The pain I'm experiencing is indescribable.”

Police were called to the scene of a stabbing in Seven Sisters Road at about 3am and later discovered the 20-year-old in nearby Roth Walk.

Announcing the latest arrest, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “The 27-year-old man was arrested having attended a central London police station on Wednesday, 25 April. He has been bailed until a date in late May, pending further enquiries."
