Fire breaks out at rooftop restaurant
A fire broke out this afternoon on the top floor of a block of flats. Emergency services were called to Trinity Road, Bootle after reports a fire had broken out on the 14th floor of a building.
Four fire engines were on the scene, and Merseyside Police were also in attendance, with a cordon placed around Daniel House. The fire reportedly broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant based in the building. Number 14 Bar and Grill opened several years ago, offering rooftop views of the city. The blaze was said to be contained to the kitchen area, and no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance at an incident on Trinity Road, Bootle. Crews were alerted at 12.59pm and on scene four minutes later. Four fire engines and an aerial appliance were in attendance initially.

"On arrival, crews found a 14 storey property with a fire on the 14th floor. The fire was contained to the kitchen area of a restaurant and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used dry powder and foam extinguishers to extinguish the fire.
"A multi-agency meeting took place between MFRS, Merseyside Police and the building’s responsible person. The restaurant was fully evacuated and cordons were established. The crews are currently making up equipment."
