Fire Crews Use Helicopters to Waterbomb Bushfires Outside Canberra

Lightning strikes ignited two bushfires in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) over the weekend of January 20 and 21, leading to fire crews battling blazes in a region about 20 km from Canberra.

The fires took hold in the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and at Mount Gingera; however, crews from ACT Rural Fire Service, NSW Rural Fire Service, and ACT Parks and Conservation Service, managed to contain and extinguish the blazes.
