Fire crews race to Glasgow city centre over carbon monoxide fears

Fire crews raced to Glasgow city centre this morning over carbon monoxide fears.

Emergency services were called to Queen Street at around 11.50am on Monday, September 16, after the alarm was raised.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service says that two fire appliances were deployed to the scene after the monitoring device was triggered inside a building.

Firefighters are understood to still be at the scene. There are no reported casualties.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 11.50am on Monday, 16 September to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm activation in Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the city's Queen Street, where firefighters remain working to ensure the area is safe. There are no reported casualties."
