Fire crews rush to scene of house fire in Exeter
A fire broke out at a home in Devon this afternoon, Thursday, November 7. Firefighters were called to Magdalen Road, in Exeter, around 2.45pm to reports of a fire in a cottage.
As firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a small fire in the first floor lounge. The fire involved a lamp and a small area of carpet was damaged, the fire service has said
DevonLive was told by a witness that a house was on fire on Magdalen Road. Pictures taken at the scene by DevonLive reader Evan Langley show two fire engines at the scene, with firefighters working to extinguish the blaze.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has said: "We were called at 2.45pm to a fire in a cottage and sent two appliances. There was a small fire in the first floor lounge involving a lamp.
"Firefighters extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet and used a fan to clear the smoke. An area of carpet was damaged."
