Fire erupts at West Lothian block of flats as smoke seen billowing into the sky

Fire crews have raced to a block of flats after a blaze broke out on the ground-floor in Blackburn, West Lothian.

A plume of smoke could seen billowing from the property on Rowan Street after the fire had broken out at around 10.20am on November 8.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service scrambled to the scene, mobilising three appliances.

The street was cordoned off and one appliance is still at the scene.

There were no casualties.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 10.20am, we received a call for a fire in a ground floor flat in Rowan Street, Blackburn on November 8. Three fire appliances were sent and one is still in attendance. There were no casualties."
