Fire service update as major caravan park blaze enters third day
The fire service has provided an update on a caravan park blaze which is now entering its third day.
It broke out in Queensferry, Flintshire, on Friday night, shortly before 8.15pm with images of the scene showing the scale of the blaze, with smoke from the fire smelled as far away as Hawarden.
Today North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed - a high volume pump and a water incident unit are at the scene this morning - with a fire service presence expected to remain through the day. It was also confirmed 400 tonnes of waste was involved in the fire.

On Friday night, North Wales Police urged people to stay away from the area and shut their windows and doors. A statement said: "Due to an ongoing fire near the A494 Queensferry/ entrance to Riverside way, please avoid the area and close all doors and windows due to smoke."
At its height there were around 10 engines at the scene battling the blaze. That was reduced to five yesterday (Saturday) - an aerial ladder platform unit, a water unit and three engines
Yesterday a fire service update said: "We’re in attendance at an incident on a caravan park in Queensferry, Flintshire having being called yesterday evening at 20.23hrs.
"Multiple appliances were called to the scene – firefighting has since scaled down but firefighters will remain at the incident for some time before an investigation into the cause will begin."
Nobody was injured in the incident and an investigation into the blaze is expected to start tomorrow (Monday).
