Fire service release update on Anglesey blaze which badly damaged house and destroyed caravan

The fire service has released an update on a blaze which destroyed a caravan and badly damaged a house, on Anglesey yesterday (Wednesday).

It broke out shortly before 1am in the village of Llanfaes, near Beaumaris and at its height, had six engines battling the blaze.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service has now confirmed the cause and the scale of the damage the blaze caused.

A fire service spokesperson said: "The fire is thought to be electrical, and caused 100% fire damage to the caravan, along with 75% fire damage and 100% smoke damage to the property."

Earlier yesterday, a fire service statement said: "We were called to an incident near Llanfaes, Beaumaris at 00:54hrs this morning, Wednesday 23rd October. The fire involved a small static caravan, which spread to a nearby property.

"At the height of the incident, five appliances and one aerial ladder platform appliance were in attendance. The stop was received at 08:30 this morning."
