'Fire Whirl' Forms During Controlled Fire in Oklahoma

Oklahoma resident Kimberly Jantz captured video of a “fire whirl,” or “firenado,” that formed while locals were performing a controlled agricultural burn near Pond Creek in Grant County, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, March 4.

Jantz told Storyful she and her husband were driving down a dirt road north of their home when they noticed a nearby pasture burning.

“We stopped to watch the fire and started filming when we noticed the firenado starting up,” said Jantz.
