Firefighter Captures Flames Soaring Above Treetops in New South Wales

A major fire burning in the Wollemi National Park area of New South Wales had burned 378,695 hectares by the morning of December 16, NWS Rural Fire Service said.

Authorities warned residents remaining in the path of the Gospers Mountain fire in Mount Wilson, Mount Irvine, Mount Tomah, Berambing, and Bilpin that it was “too late to leave” as the fire continued to grow, crossing a creek and breaking containment.

This footage was shared by NWS Rural Fire Service – Terrey Hills Brigade, who said it was filmed by their captain, Peter Duff, in the Mount Tomah area of the Blue Mountains on Sunday.
